The party benefits Operation Breakthrough, a charity that assists children and“helps those who live in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment.” Their party is so popular that it was even featured on The Travel Channel as a go-to event! For those of you who live north of the U.S. boarder in western Canada, you should make an effort to attend what many say is the best ugly Christmas sweater party around. The guys who run the Vancouver Ugly Christmas Sweater Party claim to have had the very first Christmas sweater themed party back in 2002. The first party, which started in the founders’ living room grew in popularity and was moved to the Commodore Ballroom in 2006. This year they're having their 13th annual ugly Christmas sweater party and expect to beat last year's sell-out crowd of over 1,100 people. All proceeds from the party benefit the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada- an organization that grants wishes for children suffering illnesses. And the best part? Last year, Vancouver's mayor declared December 21st, 2013 the official Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. So travel to Vancouver, put on your tackiest Christmas sweater, party on, get ugly, and grant wishes!

If you find yourself in Midland, Texas for the holidays, then this race is definitely for you! Now in its second year, the Ugly Christmas Sweater run is great holiday activity to do with the family. Along with great exercise, you and your family can participate in the 5K run or walk, or watch the kids participate in the 1 mile Reindeer Dash! There will be refreshmens like s'mores and hot chocolate, and activities like pictures with Santa. There's contests for best sweaters for individuals, teams, and families. Your race donation also gets you a free entry to Christmas at the Mansion, owned by the museum. Humane Society of Tampa, Doggie Ugly Sweater Party
Do you like spending time with your pets during the holiday season? Then head to your local humane society, dress up your dog in a cute, but ugly, holiday-themed sweater, and party on with the rest of their four-legged friends! The Humane Society of Tampa, located in Florida, threw an awesome doggy ugly sweater party in 2013 at MacDinton’s Irish Pub, where they featured $2 Coors Lights, and awesome holiday-themed food.
