Christmas in July Party Ideas
It's Christmas in July Eve and if you haven't picked out your perfect Christmas sweater vest or tacky t-shirt you still have time to put something festive together for a party.
Australians are used to warm weather Christmas parties, because it's summer in December down under. Here in the northern hemisphere, where My Ugly Christmas Sweater creates our Christmas magic, Christmas in July brings out a whole other level of fun. There's nothing cuter than wearing a bikini with a Santa hat at a beach party, so why not use this opportunity to have a theme party?
Christmas in July got it's start in Australia, where it's cold in July. The Aussies wanted to wear their ugly Christmas sweaters to a party, and celebrating 'half-Christmas' was as good an excuse as any to break out their cheesy Christmas jumpers. Not to be outdone, the folks in the USA jumped on the idea of an additional holiday, and Christmas in July parties here in the USA are celebrated poolside and on beach fronts.
If you're going to a warm weather Christmas party, then don't forget your sunscreen. Break out a sexy holiday vest and pair it with a t-shirt, or just wear it alone and show off those muscles you've been working so hard to get. Don't have a themed vest? Get any old vest and pin, glue, or sew Christmas decorations to the front. The easiest way to Christmasfy a vest is to hang real ornaments all over the front.
Be sure to bring a cooler of cold drinks for the beach party. If you need ideas for festive red or green drinks to serve check out our pinterest board DIY Drinks for an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. The Grinch Spritzer is one of our favorites. You mix 1 part Lime Sherbert, 1 part sprite, and 1/2 part Dripping Springs Vodka. Add a candy cane striped straw and your set!
